A grandmother and her three grandchildren were inside the pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction of the SUV. Both vehicles attempted to swerve to avoid each other, but the accident resulted in a head-on collision.
Two young passengers in the pickup truck, ages 2 and 7, were killed, along with the three adults. A 9-year-old boy survived the auto accident and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Officials have ruled out alcohol as a cause of the accident.
