According to police, the man was hit around 8:45 p.m. as he was walking across a dimly lit section of roadway. He later died at Eastside Medical Center.

Police found a receipt in the man’s possession which led them to the Walmart in Duluth. They recovered surveillance video of the man parking a red pick-up truck and entering the store. The make and model of the truck were not identified, but there was a silver tool box in the back.
