Howard of Pope & Howard, P.C. Served on the Board of Governors From 2010-2020
ATLANTA, GA — (July 6, 2021) Trial attorney Marc Howard of Pope & Howard, P.C. in Atlanta, Georgia, is being honored for his decade-long relationship with the Georgia Board of Governors. Howard served on the Board of Governors from 2010-2020, representing the Atlanta circuit. He attended his last meeting on January 11th, 2020, a few months before the pandemic hit the country.
“It has been so rewarding to work with lawyers around the state in a combined effort to protect the profession and the people we serve,” Howard explained. “It’s been a great honor of my career to be part of this board for ten wonderful years.”
The Board of Governors oversees the State Bar of Georgia, with members serving as a voice for other lawyers in their circuit. During his time on the Board of Governors, Howard helped chair the Legislative Committee for the State Bar and was involved with the Planning Committee to help shape the future of the organization.
Howard is now focusing his efforts outside the firm on helping vulnerable children in Georgia. He was elected to the board of directors for the Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice, a nonprofit organization that helps increase justice throughout the state via law and policy reform. He is also involved with pro bono efforts through the Stable Homes Project in Atlanta, a group dedicated to helping tenants and landlords resolve disputes.
“I’m excited to move on but am thankful for the time I spent on the Board of Governors,” Howard added. “I love giving back to my community and to an organization that means so much to me as a lawyer and to the future of the Bar.”
