The Pope & Howard, P.C. Co-Founder Will Serve as a New Board Member This Year
ATLANTA, GA — (September 23, 2019) Atlanta-based trial lawyer Marc Howard has joined the board of directors for the Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice, a nonprofit law center dedicated to “increasing justice in Georgia through law and policy reform and community engagement.”
“I’m honored to serve on the board of such a terrific organization,” Howard said. “Georgia Appleseed looks for policy solutions to problems affecting poor people, children and marginalized people throughout the state, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
According to its website, the Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice enlists pro bono assistance from lawyers and other relevant professionals to address “difficult social justice problems” such as education, public safety, and economic security. The group does not take on cases via individual client representation; rather, Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice focuses on those cases seeking changes to laws and policies to help the greater good.
“This group has led the way in changing policies and laws that really matter,” Howard explained.
Howard, a Top 100 Georgia Super Lawyer, currently serves on the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Georgia, the Board of the Sandy Springs Bar Association, and as Junior Warden of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church in Sandy Springs, Georgia. He and trial attorney Geoff Pope started Pope & Howard, a personal injury law firm, in 2005.
