Tractor Trailer Accident on I-285 Kills Newlywed
Danielle Holly, a 21-year-old newlywed, was killed Sunday evening, after a tractor trailer struck her car. The wreck blocked southbound lanes of I-285 in the area for several hours.
Atlanta police report the driver of the tractor trailer was attempting to change lanes when Holly’s Nissan Sentra was struck. The force of impact caused the car to hit the right guardrail, and then cross the freeway. The vehicle was then struck by another tractor trailer cab, which caused the car to flip and land on its side.
The driver of the tractor trailer was arrested and charged with second degree vehicular homicide and improper lane change. A male passenger in the Nissan was also transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
