Product Recall, Potential Risk of Fatal Infections

Due to a potential contamination, Vita Food Products is recalling 8,088 packages of its Vita Classic Premium Sliced Smoked Atlantic Nova Salmon.

Although the company has yet to receive complaints or recorded illnesses, the smoked salmon product could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause fatal infections to people with weakened immune systems, including: expecting mothers, children and the elderly.

Local grocery stores that received the salmon include Publix in the state of Georgia. However, the product has been distributed throughout the United States.

All product recalls are conducted because a product may harm consumers, which can have disastrous results. The lawyers at Pope & Howard P.C. investigate each product case individually to determine whether the product defect was caused by:

  • Design
  • Manufacturing
  • Marketing

Once Pope & Howard P.C. has received a complaint, the experienced team begins a comprehensive investigation of the injury and product, and pursues the responsible party, whether it is the manufacturer, a manufacturer of parts, or the vendor of a product.

The attorneys at Pope & Howard P.C. have obtained fair settlements for the victims or families who have suffered from the severe injuries of defective products.
