Pope & Howard Co-Founder Marc Howard Attends Board of Governors Meeting
Atlanta Trial Attorney Howard Participates in Meeting January 10-12, 2013, at the St. Regis
ATLANTA, GA – (January 16, 2013) Atlanta-based trial lawyer Marc Howard, co-founder of Pope & Howard P.C., recently attended the 245th Board of Governors Meeting January 10th-12th, 2013, at the St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta.
The Board of Governors, which oversees the State Bar of Georgia, focuses on setting policy for the State Bar based on the contributions from lawyers across the state. Out of 43,000 lawyers in Georgia, only 150 serve on the Board of Governors. “It’s a great honor to serve on the Board of Governors,” Howard said.
Howard, who has served as a member of the State Bar Board of Governors since 2010, enjoys participating in the meetings and voting on causes that are important to the legal profession.
“It’s important to participate and stay updated on the latest policies affecting lawyers and their clients in Georgia,” Howard added.
The agenda for the January 2013 meeting included updates on criminal justice reform and juvenile code revision, as well as special presentations and updates from different committees within the organization.
Howard, a 2012 Georgia Super Lawyer who was also named a “Legal Elite” lawyer in Georgia Trend Magazine, received his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia’s School of Law in 1993. He partnered with Geoff Pope in 2005 to start the Pope & Howard, P.C., law firm in Atlanta. His professional bio is available online at http://popehoward.com/howard.php.
