Atlanta Trial Lawyer Marc Howard Selected for Georgia Bar’s Judicial Qualifications Commission Nominating Committee
The Pope & Howard, P.C. Co-Founder Will Serve on this Special Committee in 2026
ATLANTA, GA — (July 21, 2023) Atlanta-based trial lawyer Marc Howard has been selected to serve on the Georgia Bar’s Judicial Qualifications Commission Nominating Committee for the 2026 term. This standing committee receives nominations from members of the Bar to the Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC) and provides a list of recommendations to the Executive Committee and the Board of Governors for approval and submission to the various appointing authorities.
“I’m honored to serve on such an important committee,” Howard said. “The JQC is vital to maintaining judicial ethics and works hard to achieve the goal of having qualified, fair and ethical judges who serve the people of Georgia.”
The JQC conducts investigations and hearings with respect to complaints of ethical misconduct by Georgia judges. “This group is a crucial part of ensuring that the right leaders are in place in Georgia’s judicial system,” Howard explained.
Howard is an active member of the Georgia legal community, currently serving on the Advisory Committee for the Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice. He is a past president of the Sandy Springs Bar Association, and, in 2020, ended a decade of service on the Georgia State Bar Board of Governors.
“I really enjoy serving my community, so I’m happy to begin work on the Georgia Bar’s Judicial Qualifications Commission Nominating Committee,” Howard added.
Howard, a Top 100 Georgia Super Lawyer, and trial attorney Geoff Pope started Pope & Howard, a personal injury law firm, in 2005. The firm specializes in helping victims in catastrophic injury cases seek just compensation so they – or their loved ones – can effectively move on with their lives.
