Man Killed in I-285 Crash Identified
On Monday, Cobb County police identified the man killed in a multi-vehicle crash on 1-285 last week. The 29 year-old Norcross resident, Raul Maldonado-Lopez was killed in the Thursday afternoon wreck, just west of the Chattahoochee River Bridge, according to the AJC.
A preliminary review of the accident indicated a white 2006 International semi tractor-trailer, a black 2006 Lexus GS460 and a black 1997 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck were heading east on I-285 when they collided. According to police, one of the vehicles made an improper lane change. Due to conflicting accounts, it is unclear which vehicle it was. The pickup rolled several times.
Maldonado-Lopez was the passenger in the pickup and was pronounced dead at the scene. 50 year-old Enio Tejada of Lawrenceville, the driver, was taken by ambulance to Wellstar Kennstone Hospital in Marietta with injuries that were not life threatening.
The crash is still under investigation. If you have any information about the wreck, please contact the police at (770) 449-3987.
