Deputy & Suspect Injured in Car Accident Monday Night
A sheriff’s deputy and a suspect he was in the process of arresting were struck by an oncoming truck Monday night in Jasper County, according to the AJC. Both men suffered injuries that they are currently being treated for at Atlanta Medical Center.
According to Georgia State Patrol, the deputy was attempting to arrest one man, who he suspected was intoxicated, when a man who accompanied the suspect walked across the road. A truck swerved to miss this second man, striking Deputy Carlos Rhodes and the suspect in question.
