Cobb County Teen Dies After Pedestrian Accident
Months after being struck by a car, Darion Elizabeth Hugh-Sam, a Cobb County teen, has died as a result of her injuries.
The AJC reported that 18-year-old Darion of Marietta and 17-year-old Austin Leake of Decatur were crossing Shallowford Road at Johnson Ferry Road against a red signal last May when they were struck by a vehicle traveling westbound.
Both Darion and Austin were transported to WellStar Kennestone hospital for treatment. Last week, the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s office notified police that Darion had died of her injuries. Austin’s were not life threatening.
No charges were filed against the driver.
