Chemical plant explosion in China kills fourteen workers, injures five

Officials reported the explosion took place at a melamine production unit in eastern Chinawhere equipment was being maintained and repaired.

Melamine is a nitrogen-rich chemical used in making plastics and several other products. No poisonous or harmful substances were released.  However, four workers were killed in the plant and ten more died in hospital, while another five injured were in a stable condition
